§ legal · sms opt-in
How SMS opt-in works.
CNL Systems, Inc. provides a software-as-a-service booking platform to individual client businesses — independent salons, barbershops, and similar owner-operated service businesses. Each client business runs its own booking website on the platform, and every one of those sites collects SMS consent the same way: through the standard consent step at the end of booking checkout.
The opt-in form
Customers opt in by checking the SMS consent box while completing a booking. The box is unchecked by default. The checkout step is identical on every client booking site; only the business name shown in the consent language changes.
This is that consent step, reproduced exactly as it renders on a client booking site. The copy below is inert — it does not submit and collects no data. "Northline Salon" is a sample business name; on a live site it is replaced by the name of the business the customer is booking with.

What the consent means
Phone number and SMS consent are optional. Bookings complete without them.
Consent is given to the individual business being booked with. Numbers and consent are scoped to that business, never pooled across businesses, and never shared or sold.
Checking the box is never a condition of booking. The phone field itself is optional, and a customer can provide a phone number without opting in to SMS.
Messages an opted-in customer receives
These are the messages sent to a customer who has opted in. Bracketed values are filled in per booking. Every booking notification ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." — the platform appends it automatically.
- Your appointment at [Business Name] is confirmed for [Date] at [Time]. Reply STOP to opt out.
- Reminder: your appointment at [Business Name] is tomorrow at [Time]. See you then! Reply STOP to opt out.
- Your appointment at [Business Name] has been moved to [Date] at [Time]. Reply STOP to opt out.
- Your appointment at [Business Name] on [Date] at [Time] has been cancelled. Reply STOP to opt out.
- Hi [Customer Name]! Your payment of $[Amount] for [Service] at [Business Name] has been received. Thank you! Reply STOP to opt out.
These are transactional account notifications only — booking confirmations, reschedules, reminders, cancellations, and payment receipts. No promotional or marketing SMS is sent on the platform; marketing communications are email-only by policy, under the separate email consent checkbox on the checkout form.
Account security messages
Separately from the customer messages above, the owner and staff of a client business — who hold administrator logins to the platform — may receive a one-time security code by text when they request a password reset for their own account:
- Your password reset code is [Code]. Expires in 15 minutes.
These go only to the phone number on that person's own account, only in response to a reset that person initiated, and are never marketing. Booking customers do not have logins and never receive these.
